Home Bivalvia

 

Phylum Mollusca contains about seven classes. The majority of the classes are entirely aquatic and marine.  One class, Gastropoda, has some  terrestrial species.  Two classes, the Gastropods and Bivalves have some freshwater species.  The Cephalopods are considered to be one of the most advanced invertebrate groups.
