OUTCOMES
Course: JUST 3630. Evidence
Description: Issues and problems of proof in civil and criminal
trials, rules of evidence, examining witnesses, constitutional considerations,
etc.
Expected Learning Outcomes:
We expect students completing this course to be able to:
- demonstrate a basic
understanding of the evidentiary rules, the policy reasons for those
rules, and their application at trial.
- understand the rules and
standards that make up the law of evidence in the trial setting in order
to regulate the admission of proof.
- compare and contrast the
Federal Rules of Evidence with the Alabama Rules of Evidence.
- understand the jurisdiction
of the trial courts and the appellate courts in the Federal and Alabama
judicial systems.
- understand the ethical and
professional responsibilities of the lawyer and legal assistant in the law
of evidence.
