Course: JUST 4370. Security Administration
Description: Administrative and managerial aspects of the security
field in the private sector; administrative and regulatory agency requirements;
financial management and planning; organization and vulnerability assessment.
Expected Learning Outcomes:
We expect students completing this course to be able to:
- develop an understanding of
terminology associated with industrial security.
- be able to identify
security options available to an industrial facility and determine needs.
- be able to design a
security organization for an industrial facility.
- list considerations
necessary to organize and staff a security system for various sized
facilities.
- understand duties and
responsibilities of an industrial security organization.
- list those various things
required of a security office for physical security and the establishment
of on-going positive relationships with management and personnel.
- identify various internal
security controls necessary in industrial security.
- list security options for
protection from external threats and special problems.
- be able to differentiate
between various electronic aids available to industrial security.
- discuss security authority
both in theory and practice.
- develop the ability to work
as a team.
