OUTCOMES
Course: JUST 4520. Civil Law
Description: Provides the student with an understanding of specific
civil law subjects, including conflicts of laws, equity, extraordinary
remedies, mortgages, legal ethics, insurance, personal property, administrative
law, environmental law, and labor relations law.
Expected Learning Outcomes:
We expect students completing this course to be able to:
- understand the operations
of state and federal court systems.
- identify and apply the
essential elements of a contract (offer, acceptance and consideration).
- draft a simple contract.
- appreciate the remedies for
breach of contract.
- identify forms of
discrimination in employment which are prohibited by state and federal
law.
- have a greater
understanding of the extent of personal privacy protections in the
workplace.
