WELCOME TOIKONSand OtherGRAPHIX |
If you happen to stumble upon this page, it is hoped that you will find stuff of interest to you and maybe to your web pages. You see, I have purposefully hidden this link at the bottom of my pages as a type of game, but also in hopes of it becoming a popular place to come searching for web tools.
The images and other graphics contained on these pages are those that I found as I searched the web looking for things to include on the Department of Physical Sciences homepages. I collected them and assembled them here as a resource for others in the various departments on campus, and indeed, others who come to this site via the World Wide Web. This web resource was originally compiled for others to use in their own web page development, a kind of reservoir of web tools if you will.
I will try to keep adding to this page as I find things out there that I think may be useful to me or others. Basically this page will be continuously
so keep checking from time to time. In addition, I will be looking for links to other cool and useful sites for web tools, graphics, and other stuff. These will be found somewhere on these pages. Email me if you know of some things that I might add here on
...
The IKON pages were developed as a private
venture, and are maintained by me personally. As such, the views,
pictorial tastes, and abberations from sanity that may be
connoted in IKON are mine and may not be reflected
by other members of the Department of Physical Sciences
( but
then, they may ).

At the top of this page is a jpeg image that I found interesting, with the energy of something that resembles lightning. If it is of interest to you, please feel free to copy and use it.
If you are unfamiliar with how to grab the images from internet
sites, I will give you a quick lesson. If you are using IBM or
compatible equipment, put your mouse arrow on
the image you wish to grab, and simply click the right mouse
button
In addition to gif and jpeg images, I am planning on putting some
backgrounds and textures that can be viewed directly on your
browser, as well as some links to other sites that I have
stumbled upon. There are many useful sites with lots of web
tools, and I will attempt to make links to these as I find them
and have time to update this page. So keep visiting this site and
I hope you will find something useful contained on it.
Choose your road below and follow the link to an unknown
destination. Allow IKON to be your tour guide and
explore the trails and paths that lead to images and items
ranging from subtle to sublime, or maybe to the bizzare. One
never knows what may be found at the end of a chosen path. Relax
and explore.....

Other Useful Tools that I have found for web pages will require
their own separate roads. IKON will be your tour
guide as you navigate the TOOLS for Building your own web pages.
I will begin by providing links to
TUTORIALS that will explain and provide examples of basic
HTML code. I have found these pages extremely useful in the
initial development of my pages, and I often refer to them now as
I experiment with different ideas for web page layout and
such.
In addition, if you take the right
fork here at this intersection, you will find
things like BULLETS,
DIVIDERS, ICONS, and ANIMATED IMAGES to add flair to you web
pages. This page is pretty heavy with GRAPHIX, so be
patient while it loads.
If you decide to hang a left at the
intersection, you will find that a page containing background
textures and links to add some color to those pages. Take a
little time to cruise with IKON
through cyberville and explore some of the possibilities for
enhancing the background of your web creation.
( Mac users must hold the right mouse button until
prompted to save ). You will be asked the location to which you
would like to
save the image
