MY WEB TUTORIAL

Very Cool Stuff that I Stumbled Upon

If you happen to stumble upon this page, it is hoped that you will find stuff of interest to you and maybe to your web pages. You see, I have purposefully hidden this link at the bottom of my pages as a type of game, but also in hopes of it becoming a popular place to come searching for web tools ( Well, now I guess I even have it at places other than hidden links in my site).

The images and other graphics contained on these pages are those that I found as I searched the web looking for things to include on the Department of Physical Sciences homepages. Yeah, if you clicked that link you just passed, you witnessed some of my web coding techniques. I consider myself a "hard-coder" as I code my pages by hand, as opposed to using various composers available in many software packages. To view the code used for this page, select VIEW from the menu above, then scroll down and select PAGE SOURCE.

I collected the graphics, links, and other assorted things for developing web pages and assembled them here as a resource for others in the various departments on campus, and indeed, others who come to this site via the World Wide Web. This web resource was originally compiled for others to use in their own web page development, a kind of reservoir of web tools if you will.

I will try to keep adding to this page as I find things out there that I think may be useful to me or others. Basically this page will be continuously

so keep checking from time to time. In addition, I will be looking for links to other cool and useful sites for web tools, graphics, and other stuff. These will be found somewhere on these pages. Email me if you know of some things that I might add here on ...

Philosophical or merely a Freudian Slip ?

Looking at this entity I created and named IKON, I fall back on a philosophical view that virtual life on the net can be viewed as running parallel with the phenomenon we call REAL LIFE. Scary I know, but in both we choose a path to follow and go forth until we arrive at a crossroad, a new link of sorts. Then we decide which way to travel, which path to follow.

Choose your road below and follow the link to an unknown destination. Allow IKON to be your tour guide and explore the trails and paths that lead to images and items ranging from subtle to sublime, or maybe to the bizzare. One never knows what may be found at the end of a chosen path. Relax and explore.....

Here are some Gif and Jpeg Images that I found interesting and sometimes even useful.I have decided it would be best to assign them to topics so you can select a particular area of interest. So, make a decision at this intersection on the cyber-highway and choose your path. Explore...

Astronomical Images

Meteorological Phenomenon

Homemade Banners

Other Useful Tools that I have found for web pages will require their own separate roads. IKON will be your tour guide as you navigate the TOOLS for Building your own web pages. I will begin by providing links to TUTORIALS that will explain and provide examples of basic HTML code. I have found these pages extremely useful in the initial development of my pages, and I often refer to them now as I experiment with different ideas for web page layout and such.

In addition, if you take the right fork here at this intersection, you will find things like BULLETS, DIVIDERS, ICONS, and ANIMATED IMAGES to add flair to you web pages. This page is pretty heavy with GRAPHIX, so be patient while it loads.

If you decide to hang a left at the intersection, you will find that a page containing background textures and links to add some color to those pages. Take a little time to cruise with IKON through cyberville and explore some of the possibilities for enhancing the background of your web creation.
