Tuition up to $1000.00
per Academic Year

Requirements and Criteria:
(1). Must be a Junior or Senior in the Academic Year of eligibility
(2). Must maintain an overall
grade point average (GPA) of 3.00/4.00 or higher
(3). Must have a declared major
in Physical Science*,
or a double major in
Physical Science and another field
* Includes
Pre-Med Physical Science and Physical Sciences with Chemistry Option
Students will be selected on the
basis of their academic record, with a minimum GPA

G. David and Melanie Johnson Scholarship:
Tuition up to $3,000.00
per Academic Year
for Students with a Physical Sciences or Biology Major
Requirements and Criteria:
(1). Must be a resident of
Elmore County, Alabama
(2). Must have/maintain
an overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.00/4.00 or higher
(3). Must be a fully
admitted student
(4). Must be a full-time
student during the nine month academic year

Scholarships, Stipends, and Money for College:
All graduate-level students with a minimum 3.4 GPA are encouraged to apply
for the scholarships below. The deadline for both is May 31. Applications
may be obtained in Financial Aid, the Office of Alumni Services (suite 900 of
the library tower) or by calling 244-3433.
1) AUM Alumni Association's 2001-2002 Merit Scholarships
From 1997-2000, approximately $75,000 in tuition assistance was awarded to
outstanding AUM students (this averages about fourteen students per year at
$1,200 per student). The number and amount of awards vary because funding
is generated by the AUM Alumni Association’s annual Merit Scholarship Golf
Tournament (to be held May 21st this year).
2) The AUM Alumni Association's Tower Society Stipend
Each year, the Tower Society -- the life members of the Alumni Association
-- awards one $1,000 stipend to an outstanding graduate student.
