Publications and Professional Activities

Dr. Moody's research is primarily in the area of southern politics and has been published in the Review of Public Personnel Administration and the Southeastern Political Review. His most recent paper concerns issues relating to revision of the executive branch article of the Alabama Constitution. Dr. Moody received the AUM Alumni Association Faculty Service Award in 1982 and the first annual AUM School of Sciences Award for Teaching Excellence in 1991. In 1997, Dr. Moody was named as AUM Distinguished Teaching Professor. He was chair of the AUM Faculty Council Academic Standards Committee from 1988 to 1991 when this committee developed the revision of the AUM Liberal Education requirements that were implemented in 1994. He was president of the AUM Faculty Council for the 1983-84 academic year and a member in 1983 and 1984 of the AUM Mission and Goals Committee. He has been serving as Acting Dean of the School of Sciences since December 2002.
